How Away Together came to be
Away Together started when Nik and Allie decided to quit their full time jobs to travel full time on a self-funded sabbatical. Along with packing up their lives, saving money, learning credit card strategies and planning their travels, Nik convinced Allie that starting a YouTube channel would be a good idea…turns out it was.

Quick Facts About Us
- We swiped right on Tinder in 2015 while both of us were finishing our Graduate Degrees at the University of Arkansas.
- Nik took Allie on her very first flight at age 23.
- We got married in June 2017 and embarked on a two-week honeymoon across Iceland, Scotland, and Ireland—this sparked our love for traveling together.
- We quit our 9 to 5 jobs in 2022 to travel full time.
- We accumulated almost 2 million points & miles to help fund our travels.
- Our YouTube channel Away Together started as a vlog of our sabbatical adventures, but after returning home we pivoted our content to focus less on us and more on helping others. Today, we’ve helped millions of travelers unlock smarter travel.
